What is ENCE?
The National Survey of Student Engagement (ENCE) es un proyecto colaborativo de universidades del CRUCH. Su propósito es to learn about the experience of undergraduate students and generate information that contributes to the improvement of their training.
El compromiso estudiantil comprende the time and effort that students dedicate to their studies, With las condiciones y oportunidades que ofrecen las universidades para favorecer el aprendizaje.
ENCE is inspired by the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). El instrumento fue adaptado al contexto chileno por especialistas de la Universidad de Valparaíso, la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile y la Universidad de Chile. Tras una aplicación piloto realizada en 2017, se aplica anualmente con el patrocinio del CRUCH.
Application 2026
Between August and December 2026 A new application of the National Student Engagement Survey is being developed, in which 24 universities from CRUCH are participating.
The survey is aimed at students from the cohorts selected by the project. Each participating university organizes its own application directly. and provides the necessary information to the students summoned.
The participation of students will allow to learn more about their university experience and generate information to strengthen undergraduate education.
What information does it collect and what is it used for?
ENCE collects information on seven dimensions related to student experience and engagement, entre ellas el desafío académico, el aprendizaje entre pares, la relación con docentes y el ambiente universitario. También aborda el uso del tiempo, las expectativas, los resultados académicos y la participación en high-impact training practices.
La encuesta se aplica a estudiantes de las cohortes seleccionadas por el proyecto, lo que permite observe different moments in the educational trajectory y analizar cambios en la experiencia universitaria a lo largo del tiempo.
Sus resultados permiten to guide academic decisions and strengthen institutional practices. Cada universidad accede a su propia información y puede compararla con los resultados agregados de las demás instituciones participantes, sin individualizarlas ni establecer clasificaciones.
