WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO STUDY IN CHILE?

To study in Chile you need to have the adequate documentation required by our educational system.
The first thing you need is a student visa. To get this, you should go to the Chilean consulate in your country of origin and submit the following documentation:

• Valid passport.
• Birth certificate.
• Certificate of acceptance into a study program at a Chilean educational institution.
• A certificate stating that you will receive a loan and/or scholarship. In other cases, you must demonstrate that you have sufficient means to live in Chile.
• Medical certificate. You can find the form at your country's consulate.
• Police clearance certificate from the country of residence, for those over 18 years of age. You can also find the form for this at the consulate.
• 2 updated passport-size photographs (4.5 x 4.5 cm).

With these documents, you will have your student visa, which has a duration of one year and with which you can enter Chile in a maximum term of 90 days. This visa is exclusively for study and It does not allow you to work in the country, except for special permits which will be evaluated by the consulate itself.
Upon arriving in Chile, Go to the Immigration and International Police office and presents:

• The visa issued in your country of origin.
• 2 passport photos.
• 2 letters of reference from Chileans.

Next, head to Civil Registry and Identification to obtain your foreigner's identity card, which will legally validate your stay in our country.

For both procedures, you must also Bring the original copy of your diploma or university degree certificate and/or high school diploma -depending on the studies you already have-, duly legalized at the Chilean Consulate or Embassy in your country of residence.

You must complete these steps within a certain timeframe. maximum of 30 days.

In any case, it is necessary that you review the specific requirements indicated by the Institution of your Interest for the admission of foreign students to certain academic programs.
